  • Q Are National Bank deposit accounts FDIC insured?
  • A Yes! Deposits at FDIC-insured institutions are now permanently insured up to $250,000 per depositor for each account ownership category. In addition, all non-interest‑bearing transaction accounts are fully guaranteed by the FDIC for the entire amount in the account through December 31, 2010.

  • Q How do I set up Direct Deposit of my payroll check?
  • A After your NB checking application has been approved, you will receive NB's routing and transit number and your account number. If your employer participates in a direct deposit program, simply provide this information to the human resources or payroll department, and your direct deposit will usually begin within thirty days.

  • Q Can I get account information by phone?
  • A Yes! Account information is available from Customer Assistance during business hours or ask about TeleBancTeleBanc for automated account information 24 hours a day.

  • Q Is interest paid on NB checking accounts?

  • Q Can I open an account if I don't live in the United States? What if I live in the United States but am not a citizen yet?
  • A At this time, we only accept applications from customers residing within our market area. If you have questions, contact us. We'd like to hear from you.

  • Q Can I do all of my banking with NB?

  • Q How frequently is my NB information updated?
  • A NB updates all customer information every business day. Whether you access our Internet Banking site or visit our convenient branch offices or use TeleBancTeleBanc, your account information is updated every day to reflect all account activity.

  • Q Are wire transfers possible to and from my NB checking account?
  • A Yes! Funds can be transferred to and from NB accounts by wire transfer or via ACH (Automated Clearing House) debits or credits. Call our Customer Assistance at 540-951-6234 or 1-800-552-4123.

  • Q How do I make a deposit to my account from a remote location?
  • A You can make most deposits by using Direct Deposit or NB ATMs. NB also offers a bank-by-mail service which allows you to mail non-recurring deposits. Contact us for details on a method that's best for you.

  • Q Can Businesses access account information online?
  • A Businesses can sign up for FREE Internet banking service by requesting a special business application. Simply sign up by clicking on the "Internet Banking" button and registering as a first-time user.
