BLACKSBURG, VA, DECEMBER 17, 2010: National Bank and its employees are helping local children have a special holiday this year through their donations to the Salvation Army’s Angel Tree program.

"Our employees look forward to adopting Angels every year," said National Bank Chairman, President and CEO James G. Rakes. “This year they have generously helped over 40 children in our communities have a special holiday season.” In addition to the toys and clothing given by the bank’s employees, National Bank gave a donation to support the programs of the Salvation Army.

The Salvation Army's Angel Tree program solicits community support to provide toys and clothing for children in the area whose Christmas requests might otherwise go unanswered. The Salvation Army of the New River Valley serves needy families in Floyd, Giles, Montgomery and Pulaski Counties as well as the City of Radford.
