
The National Bank of Blacksburg is pleased to announce that Angela Scott has been promoted to Vice President of Learning and Development. In her new role, Angela will oversee a training program that meets a wide variety of learning and development needs for a workforce of over 250 employees.
Angela joined National Bank in October 2021 as a Corporate Trainer with over two decades of banking and training experience. Since then, her strong foundation in banking, business, human behavior, and organizational development has been crucial to advancing the bank’s learning and development programs.
A graduate of Limestone University, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in business management with a concentration in Psychology, Angela’s academic background guides her people-centered approach to learning and development. She is currently attending the Virginia Bankers Association School of Bank Management at the University of Virginia, with a planned graduation date of August 2026.
Drawn to the mission and values of a community bank, Angela said, “I feel like I have found my home at National Bank. Born and raised in Bluefield, VA, Angela enjoys the peace and tranquility of the outdoors found in her native region. She also loves traveling and tends to find herself on a cruise ship or at Disney World as often as possible. Angela has an adult son, a daughter-in-law, and two grandchildren, as well as a Golden Retriever, a Golden Doodle, and a Maine Coon cat.
