Richie Hurst

Richie Hurst brings more than two decades of financial services experience to his role at The National Bank of Blacksburg, with a background spanning retail banking, leadership, operations, and customer relationships. “Until you work with a community bank, you will never fully understand what having a banker on your side means,” Richie said.

 

Richie began his banking career in 2001 with First Union as a broker-licensed banker before advancing to a regional leadership role with Wachovia Bank, overseeing sales and service for seven branches across the New River Valley. He later gained experience through business ownership, deposit operations leadership, and higher education before joining National Bank in 2017.

 

Born in Radford and raised in Newbern, Virginia, Richie graduated from Pulaski County High School and earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Radford University. He and his wife, Chelsea, reside in Riner, and outside of work he enjoys football season, serving as Gridiron President at Auburn High School, boating, golfing, and home renovation.
